So, here's the thing! I hate spiders. I was sitting in my nice comfy leather armchair last week writing my next blockbuster The Dead Know Not, when a spider the size of a dinner plate climbed up my leg and onto my typing hand. I nearly had a seizure! Now, my wife will tell you that said spider was the size of a pin head, but she wasn't looking at it from an arachnaphobic perspective. Some people just don't appreciate other people's point of view. Also, my wife - Mrs Doolittle - has become the bird lady of Alcatraz! Each morning she goes out into the back garden and feeds the birds, but what's been happening of late is that a female blackbird and a thrush have been landing on the patio table to eat food while my wife is eating her breakfast. But that's not all... Come closer! She's tempted them both to eat out of her hand. I know - how wicked is that! We also have doves and wood pigeons that come and tap on the patio door for my wife to go out and feed them, and they sit on the backs of the chairs looking into the house. Hey, ain't life wonderful! So, I finally got my act together and had the remaining four books in the Parish & Richards series published as paperbacks. I don't care what anybody says, there's nothing like holding a book you've written in your grubby mitts. Ebooks are the bees knees, but a real book is an object of affection printed on paper, with ink and a nice glossy cover, and... Well, I'm sure you get my drift - There's nothing like a real book! I sent copies to my mother-in-law because she thinks I'm a half-decent writer. They're not available on Amazon yet, but I'm sure they will be soon.
In the time it's taken me to write this, I've finished my next book - The Dead Know Not (Parish & Richards 7), and it'll be available for download over the weekend. I hope people enjoy it. What am I going to do next? Well, I'm glad you asked. I think I'm going to do something different, and see where that takes me. People have asked me for follow-ups of Solomon's Key, Jacob's Ladder, Orc Quest, etc... and I have a half-finished book - The Timekeeper's Apprentice - that needs finishing. I might even take a few days off to consider my options. I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure!
